چکیده

We consider a dynamical interacting particle system whose empirical distribution tends to the solution of a spatially homogeneous Boltzmann type equation, as the number of particles tends to infinity. These laws of large numbers were proved for the Maxwellian molecules by H. Tanaka ([Ta1]) and for the hard spheres by A.S. Sznitman ([Sz1]). In the present paper we investigate the corresponding large deviations: the large deviation upper bound is obtained and, using convex analysis, a non-variational formulation of the rate function is given. Our results hold for Maxwellian molecules with a cutoff potential and for hard spheres.

On the Extensions of the Mollified Boltzmann and Smoluchovski Equations to K-nary Interacting Particle Systems

Abstract. We deduce the kinetic equations describing the low density (and the large number of particles) limit of interacting particle systems with k-nary interaction of pure jump type supplemented by an underlying ”free motion” being an arbitrary Feller process. The well posedness of the Cauchy problem together with the propagation of chaos property are proved for these kinetic equations under...

Large time behavior of the a priori bounds for the solutions to the spatially homogeneous Boltzmann equations with soft potentials

We consider the spatially homogeneous Boltzmann equation for regularized soft potentials and Grad’s angular cutoff. We prove that uniform (in time) bounds in L((1 + |v|)dv) and H norms, s, k ≥ 0 hold for its solution. The proof is based on the mixture of estimates of polynomial growth in time of those norms together with the quantitative results of relaxation to equilibrium in L obtained by the...

A stochastic particle numerical method for 3D Boltzmann equations without cutoff

Using the main ideas of Tanaka, the measure-solution {Pt}t of a 3-dimensional spatially homogeneous Boltzmann equation of Maxwellian molecules without cutoff is related to a Poisson-driven stochastic differential equation. Using this tool, the convergence to {Pt}t of solutions {P l t}t of approximating Boltzmann equations with cutoff is proved. Then, a result of Graham-Méléard is used and allow...

Strong Propagations of Chaos in Moran’s type Particle interpretations of Feynman-Kac measures

This article is concerned with strong propagations of chaos properties in Moran’s type particle interpretations of continuous time Feynman-Kac formulae. These particle schemes can also be seen as approximating models of simple generalized spatially homogeneous Boltzmann equations. We provide a simple, and original semigroup analysis based on empirical tensor measures combinatorics properties, m...

Numerical Treatment of the Boltzmann Equation for Self-Propelled Particle Systems

Kinetic theories constitute one of the most promising tools to decipher the characteristic spatiotemporal dynamics in systems of actively propelled particles. In this context, the Boltzmann equation plays a pivotal role, since it provides a natural translation between a particle-level description of the system’s dynamics and the corresponding hydrodynamic fields. Yet, the intricate mathematical...
